About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Grace Yount’s passion to express herself in writing began after winning a DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) contest entitled Why I Love America. More recently she has won two International Literary Contest Awards. Shortly after high school she left her Illinois farm home and a secretarial position in a war plant to enlist in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Services). While in the Navy she met the love of her life, her sailor husband-to-be, Lewis Yount, to whom she was married for sixty years. Grace pursued her love of writing while earning a Bachelor of Arts and attending writing conferences. She first wrote LOVE LETTERS as a novelette, but was encouraged to rewrite it as a full length novel. It became a 12 year work-in-progress with help during the final year from Robert Moeller, an Editor. A stay-at-home mom, Grace enjoyed caring for her family of three daughters and two sons, as well as involvement in church and community volunteer work. Later, her greatest joys were golfing and world travels with her late husband, Lew, an outstanding insurance executive. Her current joys are her five adult children, ten grand-children, one great grand-daughter and extended family. She resides in Issaquah, Washington in a retirement facility with a fabulous view of the Cascade Mountains.
