Marcellinus then hatched a plan, maybe he could get Ifrit to charge at him and he would smash through the wall freeing the woman. With that thought, Marcellinus told the woman to move to the side, for he had a plan. He looked back at Ifrit who was slowly making it’s way towards Marcellinus, howling and snorting like a bull. Without a second thought, Marcellinus readied his bow and arrow and shot an arrow at the beast. The beast was too smart for that and quickly dodged the arrow, but as Ifrit moved to the left side to dodge the arrow, Marcellinus pulled out a knife and threw it at it. Although Ifrit missed the arrow it could not dodge the knife. It plunged deep in it’s side. Enraged, the mighty beast pulled the knife out and blood poured out. Then with a mighty roar, Ifrit made ready to charge, just like a real bull. Ifrit came full speed at Marcellinus, who jumped to the side at the last moment, sending the beast smashing through the stone wall and iron bars, freeing the woman. She and Marcellinus quickly united with each other. The woman then asked, “Is it dead?” Marcellinus paused and took a brief look inside and heard and saw nothing but dust. He then said, “I don’t know, but we must leave now, quickly!” Marcellinus and the woman made their way to the end of the hall and noticed the flame traps were off. Puzzled, they began to run in the direction Marcellinus came in from. They both thought to themselves that perhaps Ifrit turned off the traps before he attacked. They only got lost once or twice and finally saw the entrance to the cave. As they were running to exit the cave, the woman stopped and yelled, “Wait! I cannot leave without the treasure!” Marcellinus, thinking that to be foolish, yelled back, “Woman, do you want to die?! It is too dangerous, Ifrit or the traps will surely kill you, they could be turned on again!” The woman said with anger, “I don’t care! I need the treasure to help my family!” As she ran towards the labyrinth once again, the ground began to shake as they heard loud grunting. Marcellinus then yelled “The beast lives! We must go now!” They began to hear smash after smash as they saw bits and pieces of rock and rubble fly through the air. The beast then had smashed its way through the last wall to the entrance of the cave confronting the two warriors. The beast continued its charge using the mighty hammer to smack the female warrior across the room, knocking her unconscious. Marcellinus then readied his sword, as Ifrit swung its mighty hammer, Marcellinus ducked and sliced Ifrit’s beefy leg. Hardly feeling a thing, Ifrit swung the hammer again, this time hitting Marcellinus in his side. Marcellinus flew across the room onto the ground. Ifrit did not stop there though, however, for the beast tried to smash Marcellinus once more with the hammer as he lay there helpless. Marcellinus quickly rolled left, leaving a hole in the ground where the hammer smashed instead. Then the beast tried once more and Marcellinus then rolled back to the right. As Ifrit tried once more, Marcellinus drew his blade and gave the beast a quick slice in the same leg again, this time widening the cut. Ifrit was now in severe pain as it got down on one knee. Marcellinus stood up and only had time to swing his sword once, but the beast had recovered and blocked Marcellinus’s swing with its hammer. Sword and wood clashed as now a test of strength ensued. Marcellinus knew the beast was much stronger then he was, so he had to act quick. With a quick kick to the gut, the beast had the wind knocked out of it. Which then Marcellinus cut through the hammer breaking off the tip. Ifrit quickly recovered and gave Marcellinus a hard punch to the face. Marcellinus once again flew to the ground. Ifrit picked up its broken hammer and made its way to Marcellinus slowly. Marcellinus was now badly beaten and suffered a mild concussion. Ifrit raised the broken hammer in the air, with the handle end that adorned the spike facing down towards Marcellinus. Marcellinus quickly grabbed his sword to try and block the incoming attack, but just as the beast was lunging down, a massive blade cut through its body from back to front. Screaming in agony the beast dropped the weapon and began to try and pull the weapon out from its back. As Ifrit turned, Marcellinus saw his savior, the female warrior. “Now we’re even.” She said. Marcellinus rose to his feet, and with a firm grip on his sword, approached the twisting and turning Ifrit. With five mighty slashes on the stomach, the beast crumpled to the ground. Dealing a final blow, Marcellinus beheaded Ifrit. Blood began pouring out of the neck wound with a barely visible spine showing. Marcellinus, exhausted, dropped to the ground as he grabbed his side in pain. The female warrior approached Marcellinus, “Are you ok? You look pretty bad.” Marcellinus arose and spoke, “I’ll be fine. What about you? Are you ok?” She wiped some dried blood from her head and answered, “I’m alright. Just a little cut on my head is all.”
