Flying Alone
Beautifully sculpted in everyone's lies,
Those wings upon her back,
Light quickly fills them in darkness colored ever so brightly,
The perfect, oh so perfect pair it seems,
Words, words, they're only words,
And yet they create such false hope,
For when she takes one step off of that cliff,
Down, down she clumsily goes.
Then there's me, oh little me,
Who's wings are ratted and torn,
No words have repaired nor brightened,
Battered down by life's hard lessons,
The color has faded, a washed out dream,
Yet when I step ever so close to the ledge,
I find them spreading wide,
I don't need their words nor confidence.
I, I can fly.
To Be Invisible
If I could be anyone
I'd be you,
With a little mind,
Invisible,
Can't be seen,
I'll take your troubles,
Embrace your fears,
Take on your pain,
Just to be invisible,
So I can't be seen,
I'll hide in the corner,
Whisper,
With no voice at all,
To make me invisible,
So nobody can see,
Constantly look down,
Become blind,
But with beautiful eyes,
So I can be invisible,
Away from their view,
Their stabbing glare,
That rip off my mask,
Shred my protection,
Take away my dreams,
Oh what I would do,
To be you,
Oh what would I give,
Or what pain I would take,
Just to be invisible...

About the Book
Words of desire, pain, love, desperation, hope, hate, and a broken heart flood the pages to tell the story of a young lady who feels like she's been through it all. The first part consists of the experiences and emotions that were the poison in her life and then in the end a glimpse of hope is found as her poetry makes a turn and the antidote is recovered. About the Author
Amanda Booth is a young Canadian woman with a mission: to get her voice heard, to be an inspiration, and to have her words read. At only 18 she's living out her dream to be a poet and a published writer.
Originally from the beautiful country side of southern
Her poetry is her life story that she's been dying to share hoping that she can touch the lives and souls of those who have made themselves invisible, just like she used to be.
