Muster parade was every ‘clown’s’ nightmare. Being the time for inspection of turnouts, one can imagine the plight of a humble ‘clown’ who hardly had time to even complete his room senior’s uniforms, boots, buckles, belt etc amidst the various ‘jobs’ in and out of the Company lines, talk less of his own uniforms. But there was no compromise, ‘clown’ or not, your turn out must be as per standard, ‘the way and manner’ you achieved that was your business. “Submit your reports fast!” This was from a third termer, a ‘half-company-commander’, as third termers were generally known in the Academy. “Clowns, I will not wait more than two minutes for that report.” The second term course senior added. “Clowns!” One second termer came up calling. “Sir!!” “Clowns!” “Sir!!” This time our response was louder than even our shout for wake-up. Of course we all knew that very second termer – senior Cadet Jaji, a person you never joked with; very combatant and that earned him the nick-name, “Code of Conduct” from his mates and from us too, but we dared not call it to his hearing. “How many of you were not for shouting this morning; I mean the shout for wake-up, raise your hands.” Some of the culprits raised their hands but some didn’t. “I have your names here, if you like joke with me.”
