About the Book

This book is the culmination of much of my life’s travels.  Each poem has its own touch of reality, its own source of my life’s energy carefully assembled in contextual subject matter, so that they may bring to each reader a picture, rather than words only, of where I visited.  I cannot say that I have experienced all of what is written personally, but I do hope that in your reading you will find in them a twin of your own life.  Some time ago, I began writing, and jotting down words of different stories that crossed my path, and then realized that I was on a journey to finding out about me, about those around me, about those of whom I have never seen before.  In so saying, I have taken poetic liberty to speak about the occurrences in the way the words surfaced in my heart.  I tried desperately to capture all of what was touched, seen or heard with the upmost respect and appreciation of the person, time and all other concerns.  This writing has allowed me to express thoughts of the life I have lived, while carefully tracing how my life has affected the lives of those around me.  Realizing that for most of us, our lives are spent unnoticed by the world at large, but for the few who are watching, I accepted the reality of my weaken human state, my imperfections.  There is much power found in our spirits when we reach deeply past those things that linger in the dark, hidden so that we cannot be judge for not being perfect, for not being loved, for not being trusted, for not being who our family, friends, and others would ask us to be.

About the Author

Nancy was born and raised in Alabama, surrounded by many family and friends in the small town of Hartford.  After graduating from Bethune-Cookman College, now known as Bethune-Cookman University, she moved to Orlando, Florida. She has published featured articles with the Orlando Times, and has written, directed and produced plays in the Orlando area.  Years ago, she, during the Christmas Holidays decided to write a short story, as writing was but one of her favorite hobbies.  Once the story was completed, she passed it out to family and friends, and they wanted more.  It was then that writing became more than just a hobby.  At present, she is committing her time to writing projects, and writing plays for production within the coming year.
