With a skip and a hop Kary enters the Space Hall in the science Centre. What would it be like to travel into space, he had been asking himself. Now he was going to find out. There behind glass he noticed a small rock, the card read: A rock from the moon. Brought back to Earth with the first man on he moon, in 1969. 'I wish I could go to the moon one day," he said to himself.

He has many questions about the planets and he always wished he could travel to the moon. "You can go to the moon some time." Suddenly Kary hears a voice coming from behind one of the rockets. He discovers a funny little fellow with a blue shirt, green ears and green shoes. The funny creature is Spunky Sprout, the amazing talking puppet. And with Spunky Sprout, Kary has a fabulous trip to the moon.
About the Author
Wobine Ishwaran found a new direction in life after teaching Kindergarten for 26 years. Writing stories for children has become a great pleasure ; reading and writing have always been one of her hobbies. A journey into Space is her second book with the puppet Spunky Sprout. Wobine was born in the Netherlands. With her father, mother two sisters and a brother, they lived for three years in South Africa and six years in Indonesia. Her father was an astronomer,and accepted as a young man positions at the observatories of Johannesburg and in Lembang on West Java. After World War II, her widowed mother with four children returned to the Netherlands. Wobine finished High school and nursing training. During he studies she met K.Ishwaran a PhD student from India. They got married and lived in India, had two children before immigrating to Canada, where their third son was born. Wobine acquired a teaching certificate and taught for 26 years. She loves Art, reading ,writing and traveling.
