About the Book
This is not a riddle: How many lower case letters in the alphabet match their upper case letters? Lucky number
This is also a book of rhymes, essential for kindergarten readiness. When your child learns to rhyme and write with these lower cases letters, watch his/her confidence blossom. Each page hides a lower case letter for the child to discover. The art is exemplary: every page is an original, breath-taking water color painting.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sue Caplan Sperber The author is a self-described, June Cleaverstein, better known as Grandma Susie to her 7 (and still counting) grandchildren. Sperber, an English major at the University of California, Berkeley, before marriage, received her B.A. degree in sociology from California State University, Sacramento, after marriage and after the birth of her first son. One more son and one daughter followed. All the while she lived and loved her life as a homemaker, wife, cub scout den mother, pie baker, gourmet cook, lousy seamstress, children’s chauffer, and amateur poet, she was frustrated that she couldn’t find even one children’s book to help young readers learn the lower case alphabet. So after 44 years of marriage and 42 years as a stereotypic Jewish mother, educators are applauding Sperber’s book, not only because this revolutionary book is the first of its’ kind, but because it is GREAT FUN FOR ALL CHILDREN, but essential for 4, 5, 6 and 7 year olds. ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR Michelle Masera:
A native of Sacramento, California, Masera attended Williamette University, University of Colorado, and San Jose State University where she received her B.A.degree in Art, with a concentration in Painting, as well as, Special Studies in Old Masters' Reproductions.
Masera explains, “I am very pleased that Sue Sperber offered me this opportunity to illustrate her book. My preferred choice of medium is oil, so it has been an exciting challenge to work with watercolors again, and let my mind wander into Fantasy Land. I hope you enjoy these illustrations as you journey through the alphabet, as much as I enjoyed painting them for you.”
