About the Book
The book is a chronicle of the years of losing eyesight from wet macular deterioration. It is a patient’s description of the treatments and decisions made along the way. From the almost accidental discovery and diagnosis to the hopefully final level of impairment, it attempts to describe the physical, social, and emotional effects of the disease. There are suggested resources for aids that are available to help the vision impaired and public agencies which can be very helpful.
The book is not to be taken as authoritative as to medical correctness, but only as a layman’s understanding of the affliction.
Most of all the book shows the life changes that become necessary and the emotional highs and lows that come with them.
It is the author’s hope that readers will gain knowledge, a feeling that they are not alone, and most of all, encouragement to cope with their disease.
