Tell Us a Wonderful Story

Introduction: I have loved stories ever since I was a child seated on my parents’ bed surrounded by my brother and sisters listening to my mother’s voice. ‘Uncle Arthur’s Bedtime Stories’ were the staple then. I do so love those stories. They have made a lifelong positive impact on a little boy and a man.

Pleading with Mom to read to us again and again was only half of the fun. The excitement was incredible, especially when she was coming to your favorite part. So to all the parents and kids who appreciate such precious moments of quality time, family bonding time even, I say, ‘Tell us again, Mom, tell us a wonderful story.’

Now that I am man I need to add all those parts to the Bible stories that usually got left out. Yes, ever since then I could tell when there was a piece of the story missing, something that did not completely fit, some detail that did not add up, something that doesn’t sit just right. It always left that unpleasant, unsatisfying taste on the subconscious. It’s like when the theologians dissect the Scripture to teach and expound a point, but fail to reconnect it to the whole tapestry, leaving it in pieces. Instead, I have come to recognize the beauty of the word of God as a whole, a complete story.

Now this is the story I cannot leave untold any longer. This I promise is a great story, a high-tension thriller, sweet and smooth, fun and delightful from beginning to end. And this one is for all ages. Ponder now the story of the Firstborn/Prince and finally come to know His ways. So here we go once again, Mom, with another epic story for the age.
