About the Book
Dueling Picket Fences introduces a level-headed woman named Joliana who is thrown into a kaleidoscope of events. She is taken from a mundane moment of preparing breakfast through an obstacle course of upsets including identity theft, kidnapping, bank robbery and murder. All in three days time.

But the story is more than that. It is a snarled web created to profile people with dysfunctional behaviors. These individuals surround us--where we live, where we work and where we play. We can choose to ignore them or open our hearts and understand.

On the imaginary lane called Windslow Street, nestled in an existing town called Wethersfield, you will meet a tapestry of colorful characters. There is Darcy and Bette who are petty theft operators, and Uncle Hank who is a stubborn old farmer. You will meet Geraldine who is a woman that has not left her house in years and her strange friend Lizzie. Pete, a bank robber and murderer, has escaped from prison and is turning the neighborhood upside down. And of course, in the middle of it all is Joliana.

So take a hike down this quaint country lane and see just who is behind those innocent picket fences. Enjoy your walk.
About the Author
Since my teenage years, I have wanted to take my thoughts to publication. Many days and nights have passed but finally a dream has become reality. However it took a bit of a shove to get moving. For me, it was the passing of my father. Grief became my drive, my inspiration and wise teacher. So I grabbed a pen and began to write.
On a personal note, I am married to an affable man who works long days taking a few moments on Saturday to enjoy the couch and the remote. We have four children who are plodding through their high school and college years. These days there are plenty of school bills and black bags filled with laundry.
I am a LPC, a licensed professional counselor who is currently employed by an area college in the New Haven county in Connecticut. I also maintain a counseling practice that offers assistance to individuals facing such issues as depression, anxiety, self-esteem and bereavement.
In any spare moments, I drag out my calligraphy pen and watercolor paints. Sometimes I sing and play guitar. I love to exercise so most days I can be found walking around and around the track. Of course, every evening I surround myself with books of every genre accompanied by a well steeped cup of tea.
The book, Dueling Picket Fences is fictional. However, as it evolved, it took on a life of its own. The characters became living, breathing people with intriguing personalities. I enjoyed the process of creating this work and I hope you will enjoy reading it.
