The first chance he got, Ethan got to a private place and took the note out so he could read it. His heart raced as he read the words Gracie had written. If you can, meet me tonight at ten. The same place as last time. I'll wait till eleven for you. Love, Gracie.
He smiled as he put the note back in his pocket, and thought about how he couldn't wait to see Grace that night. As he headed back out to the fields he thought about how wonderful it was to have her join his family for desert. Even if it was only for a small amount of time, it felt just as great as it would have if it were hours. He thought about how great it would be if she were Mennonite, and he could court her. He imagined how great it would feel to be able to hold her hand, and take long walks with her, and to be able to see her on a regular basis, without having to sneak around and lie to his parents. He grinned to himself as he got back to work and continued to lose himself in his thoughts of what the evening would bring.

Gracie is an average girl whose life seems fairly ordinary until her family relocates to a small town in Kentucky called Hillcrest. She would later find herself in the middle of an emotional whirlwind when she stumbles across a young man named Ethan. The only problem is that Ethan is from a "different world." Despite their many differences, Gracie decides to persue him only to find that love can be a much more powerful thing than anyone, much less herself, could ever imagine.
About the Author
Freedom Hicks is a thirty year old mother of two who discovered her love of writing in the eighth grade where she wrote her first short story. In April of 2001 she began her relationship with God and decided to use it to glorify him through the beautiful mind he had given her. She hopes to inspire those who read her book as they embark on their own spiritual journey.
