Start Loving Yourself

So here we go, another book on the market. Why should I buy it or even write it? I know lately we have been swamped with books upon books, The Secret, The Prayer of Jabez, The Da Vinci Code, just to name a few.

All these books influence us in some way, form, or fashion, and here I come along with my story to tell.

I have, believe it or not, read a lot of books in my life, and I am only thirty-eight. I never really saw the need, and also I believe the One who sent me did not want me to be influenced by man’s ideology.

The name given to me was Terrence James Christopher Bacchus.

My mother gave me those names on December 24, 1968, and she always told me that she was inspired by the Holy Ghost to do so.

Terrence –Tender; James – brother of Jesus (will have success); Christopher – Christlike; Bacchus – Greek God of wine and confusion. So I guess I am about to start some trouble in this land, on the earth.

I was born on the island of Trinidad; not much to say about this place. It is a typical island with beautiful beaches, tropical fruit, all the sunshine and rain you can handle.

We left there in 1986 and immigrated to America, and let me tell you, it was a culture shock and an eye-opener all in the same day, coming from being sheltered by strict parents, not knowing all too much about life, only what we were told by Mommy and Daddy.

I am the third from a family of four siblings; two older sisters and one younger brother.

I then joined the military one month after being in America, where I experienced a lot of emotional turmoil, being in there. I wish someone would have pulled me aside and given me a heads-up, but I guess that’s the beauty of life and experiencing new things; it has to be written as we go from day to day, because the choices you make determine where you eventually end up.

Did I mention we were advent churchgoers as long as I knew myself. Well, that’s another subject, or maybe even another book, so let’s leave that alone for now.
