Somehow we have been made to feel as if our suffering is more than we can bear. There are times that we our self-are not sure of the processes in which God uses to bring us to a place of perfection. We understand the importance of being anointed but many of us never stop to think what it will take in order to receive the anointing. We constantly see persons that we would like to be like but that is based on the perception of what we see, we some time have the tendency to not understand what it took for them to receive the anointing. I often tell people when ever they see someone who is anointed they shouldn’t look at what that individual possesses you should look instead at what that individual had to give up to receive the anointing. Simon Peter’s life is a perfect example for those persons who seek the anointing of God. It is also perfect for those who posses the anointing now. Consistently Peter has to go through test and trials; I choose to call them the processes of God. The processes of God are not limited to any one thing but rather can be a wide variety of things. God has the unique ability to take the things that happen in our lives and cause them to birth in us a deeper anointing. God in actuality was speaking to all of his disciples; Satan desires to sift you as wheat. To be left in the hands of Satan for the sifting process may seem uncomfortable and unsettling. What brings comfort and great joy is we know that Jesus prays for us. There is a comfort of knowing that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the father daily making intercession for us. Jesus speaks prophetically into our lives, “when thou art converted”. You will make it through this. The process may take days, weeks and even years. You will make it through the process. What you will become as a result of the process will allow you the ability to strengthen your brothers. The sifting will separate and it will cause some things inside of you to surface but God is going to take what’s left and give you a miracle. When God spoke the word over Peter’s life, we must understand that’s when he became target for Satan. Most people would have counted Peter out after his denial. People have a tendency to count all of us out. It does not matter what people feel or think about you, when God speaks over your life nothing and no one can keep you from becoming what God has destined.

Follow the trace line of Peter impetuous, knowledgeable and used mightily by God. Yet in all of his dealings he consistently failed God! While this book trace lines important events in Peters life any individual reading it should find a mirror image of themselves. No matter how hard we try and strive to bring God pleasure we find ourselves failing yet even in our failures we still bring to God the Glory he deserves. We need understand that because we are gifted we automatically become targets for the enemy his desire is to keep us immobilized and to constantly remind us that we are not good enough. God does not call us to perfection but rather his desire is that we become Holy. Our righteousness is established through what he has done for us. Therefore the redemptive work that takes place at

Rev. Dr. Pastor Kelvin E. Shouse is currently the pastor of After the sifting, is a culmination of seven years. It is a brief look at Peter and his ministry challenges written in hopes that the kingdom will embrace its sons and daughters. It is pure testimony that all of us have or will at sometime or another fail God, but there is still no searching of his understanding. He still gives power to the faint and to them that have no might he increases strength. He will give you strength to overcome and to endure your obstacles. Pastor Shouse has been in the church all of his life, sometimes failing God and through his own experiences he writes “After the sifting”. Born and raised in He is an Elder statesman having lead and served the church for most of his life. He continues to exemplify great Godly leadership while serving as a loving husband to the former Cheryl Baldwin and father to his natural children, Brandel and Jeremy as well as to the church at large.
