About the Book
After more than two years of work writing down a lifetime of memories, Mina Moore, an 83-year old resident of Forest City, Pennsylvania has published her autobiography, entitled “An American Love Story.”
The book details her life from her upbringing in New Jersey until the present day and centers around her 52 year marriage to Bill Moore and their adventures together as both a couple and a family. The journey begins with their childhood and details how the two met despite living on the “opposite sides of the tracks” in Ridgewood, New Jersey. The story continues as Mina decided to throw caution to the wind and follow her soon-to-be husband to Florida after he enlisted in the Marine Corps during World War II. After marrying, Mina traveled from base to base on her own just to stay with her husband until he was shipped overseas to a small island in the Pacific Ocean for the remainder of the war.
Upon his return, Bill and Mina started a family in New Jersey but for health reasons moved to a farm outside of Hop Bottom, PA. After raising their two children, they sold their house and farm, auctioned the equipment, and set off on a journey to see all of the incredible sites our country has to offer. The couple traveled for ten years without a permanent address using only a pickup, camper, and a motorcycle as their home.
