The city skyline of the financial district of Cover Hill looked amazing when the sun flickered off all of the large skyscrapers that lined up along
Crime around the business centre was at its lowest point for almost ten years and even then the arrests that were being made at any particular time were more to do with bribery and corruption than for any really violent acts that had taken place such as people being assaulted or murdered.
Like any business centre it had a dark side to it and marketing was a pretty cutthroat industry with four marketing firms filing for bankruptcy in the past year alone due to competition amongst the companies in the area. Undercover employees had entered into other marketing firms to check out their codes of practice and their prices it wasn’t pretty, but it was marketing and this was big business with a lot of money on the line.
The Mayor Harris Bolton was none the less proud of Cover Hill and its general appeal he had been trying his best since becoming Mayor to change the overall idea of the district being just for financial types and rich people feeling that just put people off coming to the area under those ideals.
He had scheduled a fun run through the long green parks that ran alongside the river in the hope of attracting younger people into the area and shaking the illusion that Cover Hill was only about making money. It was one of many ideas that he’d made a list of putting into practice even if some of his advisors had argued against this particular idea because younger people could bring their own mini crime-wave into Cover Hill like they did in other surrounding districts. Although The Mayor himself stood by his idea and wasn’t about to change his mind even if the local police chiefs weren’t exactly thrilled with the idea of having gangs of young people roaming the area. Not that they had anything against them as people, but in there own experience the more-young people together in a given place the more chance of petty thefts and other crimes would be committed against decent and upstanding members of society. They were old fashioned in their way of thinking, which is just what Harris Bolton was fighting against this was his highest ranked political job to date and he wasn’t going to let any of his voters down. When they voted for him they had indeed voted for change and that was exactly what he intended to give them.

‘Show me something’ is the story of a marketing company set in the financial district of Cover Hill. When the chief marketing man is found dead in his office it sets off waves of intrigue as to who killed the genial marketing genius.
The police investigation begins as they interview the staff of the building discovering undertones of jealousy and resentment in the process.
‘Show me something’ shows them that nobody is beyond the finger of suspicion.
The detectives are feeling the pressure from both their boss and the Mayor of Cover Hill to locate and find what the press has dubbed ‘The Show me something killer’ in the middle of a Heatwave.
An unsolved murder from over thirty years previously is also caught up in the web of intrigue that shows that in the world of high finance anything goes.

His creative imagination has already produced a series of poetry books ‘Just add music’, ‘Early results are just in’ and ‘August 1976 Hippies & Heatwaves’.
For his first novel ‘Show me something’ he applied his imagination to a story he first started writing in 2005. That initial draft of the story was only twenty pages long, but grew into a creative murder mystery novel that was substantially longer by the time it was finished.
With this book he hopes to prove that he can do more than just write poetry books.
An old English teacher once said he had plenty of ideas for writing and this is one of many ideas that he has produced to prove her right.
