“I will make some soup to feed the “couch potato”, she snickered.
The door bell rang, which always startled Faye and Muffin. Most of the time these two led a quiet life without much disturbance, but Faye was always pleased to see people. Muffin decided to stay where she was because Faye was already at the front door.
“Well come right in Jane and you too Shadow”. “Come on in the kitchen and we’ll visit in there today as I am starving and in the process of making some soup.”
“We don’t have long either. Shadow came home from school early so I can take him to the dentist for his cleaning. We haven’t seen you out lately and just wanted to see if you were okay.”
“Yes, I suppose I’m okay. I seem to spend too much time being a couch potato though. I’ve got to get myself busy doing something soon. My lifestyle isn’t the healthiest you know.”
Faye led them into the kitchen and served a Coca-Cola ® to her next door neighbors, as they sat at her kitchen table. She opened a Coca-Cola® for herself, took a sip and put the bottle on the shelf, causing Muffin to have to shift positions.
(Now look lady, I was here first!)
The ladies chatted and Shadow enjoyed his drink. He watched the bubbles dancing in the bottle. EFFERVESCENT, he was thinking. Just yesterday he had learned the word and how to spell it. Hmmm, very interesting!
Shadow giggled when he saw the way Muffin glared at the Coca-Cola® and then the way she glared at Faye.
