About the Author

Shaun Cain has worked in the electronic media (Radio Jamaica Limited, RJR, and the now defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation - JBC) in Jamaica as a news and sports reporter and presenter for a number of years.

He joined the JBC radio news staff in 1994 producing and presenting news bulletins and other programmes on air. He also worked in the station’s sports department.

In 1997 when Radio Jamaica acquired the JBC’s assets from the government, he went to work for RJR where he presented Sport news and the popular road traffic update programme, the Roving Report, during the station’s morning flagship radio show, ‘Good Morning Jamaica’ with Alan Magnus and Dorraine Samuels.

During his time in the media, he covered many important events, including the Reggae Boys’ (Jamaica’s national football team) return from their inaugural World Cup appearance in France in 1998. Shaun also reported on many cricket tournaments, where he developed a keen interest in the business side of the sport (cricket).

He lives in the United Kingdom where he lectures in Business in the Post-16 (Further) education sector. Prior to his lecturing appointment, he worked in the commercial banking sector as an Account Manager. In addition to this, he does marketing and business consultancy work as well as Business Coaching and Motivational Speaking.

Shaun holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Post-Compulsory Education and Training (PGCE) as a lecturer from the University of Greenwich, the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM's) internationally recognised Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and a Master of Arts Degree (MA), also in Marketing, from the University of Lincoln.
