About the Book

It is the driving forces of both my father and mother that has brought me to this creative whirlwind called writing.  As a result, I was inspired to put my thoughts to paper and share them.  I have always enjoyed poetry - reading and writing - and want to share my particular, or as some may say, “peculiar” flow of words with others.  This book evolves from memories of my childhood and into the reflections of adulthood.  The ride has not always been smooth, as life would have it, even rough and bumpy at times.  But throughout life there are many moments, instances, and circumstances that jog a memory, inspire a thought and even evoke emotions.  This book is an eclectic representation of those memories, life inspired thoughts and emotions that have molded me to who I am now.

So sit back, put your feet up and go on this journey of expression with me.

About the Author

Born May 25, 1958, I am the first of four children born to Dennis and Geneva Coles.  I attended Kent State University at the age of 32 as a “non-traditional” student, although many family and friends thought that the idea was not one of my best.  But as my mother has been known to say, “She is her father’s child,” I think that my will and determination has always been a strong force in my life and allowing me to meet changes and challenges head-on.    It was attending college later in life that instilled in me that at any age one can dream, strive and achieve their dreams.   I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and currently work as an administrative assistant in an Atlanta, Georgia lawfirm.
