I'll Love You Forever

Shortly after my father died, I wrote his story and gave it to my family members as a Christmas gift.  I had been the first person who heard the words God had spoken to him, and therefore I felt it was my responsibility to put it down in writing so the exact words and facts would never be forgotten.

Over the years I have recounted my father's story with many people who have lost loved ones.  It is something people hunger to hear.  After thanking me for telling them, others have expressed to me how much peace and consultation it brought to them.  They craved the reassurance that their loved ones were in a better place, and that they would see them again.

Now, years later, I feel it is my obligation to share what I wrote for my family with others.  It is something so remarkable and miraculous that I feel it needs to be told.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT I WAS SEEING!

There was my father, sitting up, on the side of the bed where my mother slept.  He was facing me, and although he looked weak and frail, he was alert.  Prior to this, he had been unable to get into or out of his bed on his own.  He looked like he was going to get right up out of bed?  I asked, dumbfounded, "Dad, what are you doing?"  In shock I questioned him, "How did you get from your side of the bed to moms?"  He had been nestled in pillows that we had carefully placed around him.  How had he found the strength to move them aside and manage to sit up on his own?  I'll forever remember my father's words.  After hearing my questions, my father looked up and me and said clearly,

"I KNOW I'M SICK, BUT I'VE TALKED TO GOD, AND I'M TO BE PREPARED."
