The princess was always helpful and giving to all the people in the town. Like the time Ms. Walker needed help getting her groceries home. The princess walked all the way to her house carrying her bags. She didn’t hurry Ms. Walker along and she didn’t complain. It was as if she had nothing else to do on a lovely Spring day but to talk the day away. Ms. Walker was so blessed she decided she would pray for God to bless the princess. Only she didn’t know she was a princess…yet.
One day as the princess was walking home through the meadow she heard a baby crying. She walked through the meadow searching for the sound of the cry. She walked around and around until - there in the blossom of a calla lily she found a little baby. She picked the baby up in the palms of her hands and ran to her girlfriend’s house.
“Marilyn, Marilyn, look what I found in the meadow!” Marilyn looked at the baby and smiled, “You’ve found grace.” “Grace?” asked the princess. “Yes, grace. God has blessed you.” “What shall I do with this grace?” asked the princess. Marilyn smiled at her friend and said, “Love her.” The princess held the baby close to her heart. “I can give her lots of love.” Marilyn smiled and said, “I know you can. She will be good for you.” “She’ll be good for me and I will be good to her. I think I shall name this grace Goodness.” said the princess. “Goodness me – what a wonderful name!” Marilyn exclaimed.
