About the Author
Mary Lou Prickett is a 57 year old woman who has suffered from severe depression for over half of her life. Her two children grew up with a mother that was not like other moms. She cried the majority of the time and was totally disabled by her illness. Mary Lou's sons had questions that were difficult to answer. She hopes that this children's book will be able to help children better understand what depression is and understand that it is not the child's fault that the person he loves is so sad. Mary Lou uses animals to answer some of the questions. She believes that in order for someone to be helped with depression, it takes not only doctors, medicine and therapy but also help from God.
