About the Book

The Journey Home is a collection of 100 poems written in the traditional poetic form of rhyme and time. Many of the poems are based upon true life experiences, expressions of desperation and struggle, heartache and heart break, in the remembrance or thinking of either someone or a beloved pet, some are as a result of an personal existing mood frame or purely based upon a factual point in time, some are political view points or messages to those involved in the political system and a few are entirely fictional written simply from imagination. All of the combined poems are a journey through life, my life or our lives and the words are uniquely portrayed in perfect poetic context in rhyme and time creating a journey through life.. Each poem has a beginning, a middle and an ending whilst at the same time cleverly flows remaining on the subject matter without diversion. This book is the first book to express my minds abilities to write truely poetically and not merely in prose, ode, or  ballad form. Self contained structures all simple, easy to understand and read is the main aim whilst at the same time hopefully ensuring a message as concise as possible is given. These poems will be plondered upon undoubtedly and repetively for years to come by those who enjoy the love of poetry. The ability to both relate and correlate will be experienced by the reader in not one of the poems but many of them. The undying devotion to create and express shines throughout this book from page to page and poem to poem.

About the Author

Born in England in 1957 and reared as a military child in several countries to include the USA, France, Germany and England. There are those who may refer to me as a "Military Brat" but I prefer to be considered as a "Military Spirit" or Military "Soul". The discovery of my poetic talent first came to light during my 7th grade year. The teacher, at the time, took the entire class outside in order to aid the inspiration of writing a poem and my creative effort shined through resulting in me receiving an "A". The fondness for the traditional form of poetry, strictly rhyme and time, simply grew and grew. Over the years my poetry has been recorded as song lyrics, accepted for print in various anthologies by the likes of the International Society of Poets, Dogma Publication and Forward Press.and has been read on radio. In 1992, I completed a Bsc in Computer Science from the University of Maryland which has aided in methodical thought processes being applied to my writing. My poetry appears extremely regimented appearing as soldiers in formation presumably due to military affiliation. I currently reside in the county of Norfolk, England which is of historical significance to the likes of Thomas Paine and Bodiccea and now serving host to me, Ladee Basset, the pen my sword. I believe the ability to express poetically is a gift that should be shared with others who enjoy poetry.
