As women when they get up in the morning, most of them are already thinking about and have planned their day by the time they walk to the shower. As wives and moms we do not have the luxury of thinking about one thing at a time. It is written that we should “have the mind of Christ and think on those things that are good, pure and lovely”. However, in the real world life it does not always work that way. When they arise in the morning they are thinking about what they are going to wear to work? If it is going to be a bad hair day? What can be fixed for the kid’s breakfast? What John wants different in his lunch from Terry? What can be taken out for dinner tonight? Does Susan have dance practice? How is the traffic going to be if by chance they leave 10 minutes later than usual? And the list goes on and on. Wives are constantly on a journey from the time that they awake until their heads hit the pillow again. Most husbands on the other hand wake up in the morning; get out of bed, shower and dress. They go to work, put in their eight hours, come home, put their feet up and wait on dinner. Wives are still on their journey. They get home maybe take 10 minutes to change their clothes, while listening to Johnny, Terry, and Susan complain about each other or school. They try to comfort the kids, and at least make it possible for them to live in the same household for a few more days. They ask about homework and pray that they have already started. Still heading for the laundry room to start a load of clothes and into the kitchen to prepare a meal. This scenario can go on endlessly. The point is that your wife is constantly on a journey to meet and fulfill the obligations that have been set before her. If you would like to maintain intimacy in your marriage, learn to relieve her from her journey. Then she can meet you at your destination. If you read in the book of Genesis, God created Adam first, not Eve. By the time Eve arrived on the scene, everything was in place.
