Saleenah's New Life

      "Well I stepped off the elevator and bumped into someone.  The most wonderful gentleman any woman could meet, Mr. Charles Chocknella." Surprisingly Feebe replies, "You mean the Toy Factory guy?" Yes, yes, and I don't have long, we have a date tonight at 7:00 p.m. sharp, said Saleenah.

     "I can't believe it," said Feebe.  Okay, let's go find you something very elegant to wear. Charles said an after five dress, Saleenah replied.  So everyone scurries around as if another storm was coming and it was the end of the world to get Saleenah squared away.  Chessie is so happy for her mom; finally someone else can show Saleenah the love she showed for Chessie.  Chessie helps with getting her mom ready.  "Mom, where are your shoes and which ones do you want to wear?" Chessie asks.  I think I shall wear the red ones with the gold heels; they will go good with the red dress and gold purse with red and gold straps.

     "Oh, Saleenah you're going to look stunning," said Lois, the caretaker from the old girls' school. "Yes, mom, I think so too."  Said Chessie.  "I don't think I will get ready for another two hours or so, everything is perfect."  Said Saleenah.  "I think that's a good idea," Lois and Feebe said together. "Lois, will you do an updo hair in a bun after tea time? I think I will wear my hair up," said Saleenah.  Sure, I'd love to, said Lois.  I used to help the girls with their hair all the time.

     Saleenah, it is two hours before 7 p.m., you had better come on! said Feebe.  Let me just finish the last drop of my tea okay?  All right, Feebe replied.  Lois, don't forget I need you to do my hair? Okay, said Lois.  Before Saleenah left the tearoom of her parents' Victorian Home, she thought for a moment how excited her parents would have been at the progress she has made and how everthing's turned out.  end of page 41

     Small tears started to roll down her face as she thought how she wanted her parents to see her off on her first date and how she met this special someone, their granddaughter, Chessie, how well she had adjusted to her new family, turning into such a beautiful young lady.

     Saleenah, come on, time is a wasting!  Said Lois.  All right, all right!  I'll do your hair after your bath and Feebe will help with your bath and your dress okay?  Saleenah was so nervous she just couldn't sit still.  She had to have someone to help her get ready.  Okay Saleenah, we are done with the bathing part, said Feebe, the housekeeper.  Everyone was busy helping out since Saleenah was nervous and not cool as a cucumber.  It's going to be all right, you'll see, said Lois, who started laying out the makeup Saleenah had wanted to apply.

     In the meantime, Chessie handed over the undergarments, slip and stockings and so forth for Feebe to put on for Saleenah.  Chessie, like everyone else was a good help, making getting ready simple and hassle free.  Okay, Lois, she's ready, Feebe hollered across the room.  Be right there, said Lois.

     Even though, Lois hadn't been certified to be a hairdresser, she could do marvels with people's hair.  That's why Saleenah was so intent at allowing Lois to do her hair.  Saleenah looked stunning as Lois put a few added touches to her hair, a few rhinestones here and there.  end of page 42
