Book Two Of Seven

Sa’tan stood at the rusted gates of Sheol. A Miasma of buzzing mist gathered about him, blanketing the foul mold covered hard soil beneath his feet. He smiled as the mist parted and he looked down upon the horror stricken face of the golden haired angel lying in the muck before him.

            “Be welcomed, as all are here.”

            “No, please Lord no,” he made strangling noises as small deep green creatures, horridly like and unlike the fairies within the Heaven’s, bustled around him with bat like wings, hastily placing a leash upon his neck.

            Amen screamed, and bit his tongue, unable to fight the panic which rose thrumming in his chest. Several small hands hoisted him up by a noose placed roughly about his long neck. It burned his throat as it tightened. He grasped at it with manacled hands. Sa’tan accepted the leash from one of the sharp faced creatures. Merrily, he hauled Amen into the deepening darkness of the Hells.

“Oh ho, you will soon find that the lord you speak of does not answer the pleas of any here. Come now, I hate to see a grown angel simpering, but then again, we mustn’t take all of the fun out the Hells must we?

            “I shall see that you are trained to a station befitting you, for there are no equals here, only master and chattel. Nos Damnare Nostrum, we damn ourselves.”

Just beyond the gates Sa’tan threw the leash over his shoulder. The creatures which placed the leash upon him soon released him. They rolled him until he was supine and forced open his long legs. They impaled him with a thickly twisted pole, cut from the nightmarish forest just beyond Sheol.

            His body shuddered as he was raised up. “Fear not,” came Sa’tan’s sibilant whisper. You ssshall not die, for you are immortal, but here we feel the pain just as if we were men.”

            “Sa’tan picked up the post with ease, which was slick with black blood and pierced the hardened rocky ground with it. “It is true what they say, young Amen. We all have our cross to bear, and now, you can be intimate with yours.”
