About the Book

Move Mountain examines the constructs of race, class and gender within Buffalo, New York's political, economic and social systems. This portrayal is reflective of many urban communities in America. Move Mountain gives an eye witness account of the day to day issues and concerns experienced by an increasingly growing population: African-American, middle-class, female, single parents. No matter the depth or breadth of life's situations, the women studied are trailblazers as they articulate socio-economic issues while gaining the necessary tools to ensure success. It can be a daily daunting experience as these women hold decision making positions in the workplace, attend public colleges and universities and try to balance a middle-class family lifestyle in an environment that operates at a deficit. These ground breaking accounts are sure to be a guiding light for any single, female, parent in pursuit of an advanced educational degree that leads to a better quality life.

Move Mountain is a must read!
