MORALITY
Morality according to Webster's dictionary is the "principals of right and wrong conduct" or "character". I say it is "Doing The Right Thing". People who do the right thing live a moral life. But, what is the "Right Thing?" How do you know what is right and what is wrong?
Morality can be confusing because each generation sets a "moral code" that sometimes are not in line with the bible or our core beliefs. For example, slavery was morally acceptable in some societies but later it was determined to be immoral. War was morally acceptable during the Crusades or the Christian Wars but later war to force people to believe was found to be immoral. Morality is an individual thing. God gave each of us the ability to know right from wrong. But when we ignore our personal choices for those of societies just to get along, then we become a part of an immoral society.
If you choose to live a moral life then you must follow what God has put on your heart.

About the Book
Letters to my Girls was written to the author's granddaughters because she believes each new generation is falling farther and farther away from a moral code. The author believes that young women get into trouble because they haven't been given clear guidelines for what is right and what is wrong. Simple rules to live by and to think about as decisions are required throughout their lives. Letters is based on Christian guidelines using the New King James bible as a reference.
About the Author
A California native, Beverly graduated from Cal State University Dominguez Hills, Carson, California. She spent over ten years working on Skid Row and fifteen years in other areas where homeless mentally ill gather. Her work included counseling, psychotherapy and providing services for homeless mentally ill persons in Los Angeles. Writing was always her first love and she has written several screenplays, short stories, two novels and a book of poetry.
