THE PREVIEW FROM THE SECRET OF THE FALLS
The King was an old man. He had seen many more days and years than he had ever thought he would; more days than his wife and three sons . . . An a terrible thing to have to outlive your children, he thought. Ralph was brought before the King, the very sight brought some faint hope fluttering back to the King's feeble chest. Not hope for a miracle such as his resurrected sons or such, for he knew what was impossible and what was the wild imaginings of a too-old man. But perhaps there was . . . something else this Ralph could give him that no others had been able to. He smiled, gestured the guards away, motioned for silence to come to the court. Within the space of a few heartbeats, the audience hall of the King was absolutely silent. "You are the Singer?" the King asked.
"I am, your Majesty," Ralph murmured. A whisper rustled through the crowd, and several court minstrels and troubadours moved forward to see this man who was said to sing with a voice that could touch any heart. He knelt before the old monarch. " Please would you sing for me"And so he sang.
He gazed long and hard at the King, reached in with his Music, and saw the pain that the King held -- a pain that he had known well himself. He saw a fear of Death clinging to the man, even as he cursed the dread specter for stealing his wife and children, and he showed the King the cradling water as the Lake had once held Ralph after Death had touched him. There is more, he promised. The peace and warmth the Falls granted him after that trial, a taste of Carrie's never-forgotten laughter, and of the sweetest mornings he had ever known -- echoes of which glinted in the King's eyes as well.
He coaxed those visions back to the light of day. He gave the King the love that Ralph knew burned in people he had been between -- love and loyalty and trust. He tore through the soul of a monarch with the soul of Falls Music and his own Music and with lost dreams and true ones. He gave the King a peace such as the man had never known. When he finished, there was silence. "Are you God?" the King asked at last.

Beverly wrote this book along with some of her family members both in Canada and the United States, it brought back the childhood memories of the wonderful classics , that was read to her as a child, the pleasure and experiences of how she felt in a wonderful world of fantasy. She would always let her imagination run free .She would write in a journal some fantasy stories ,she would dream up on her own .Like the ones she tells her own loving grandchildren now.
She loved reading children books all her life, this attributed to keeping the little girl’s imagination running free in her. Her passion for writing grew more at.that time when she was writing adult fiction with her husband.before he died She decided to follow her first dream and that was to become a children’s author. She thought as she observed her own grandchildren at play, how their imagination sets up the story and the decisions on how they were playing flow right along.
Another idea came to her about writing children stories was when she read her children and grand children stories, how their full attention was on the actions she made for each character in the story as she read.
Beverly mention writing this book ,got her back in touch with her inter child, and to believe in yourself ,acknowledge that there is a world of make believe in you and from time to time really travel down that road with yourself ,your children and grand children. So, please kept your inter child alive and you will have a more fuller and refreshing life
