  While religious studies have revealed that the holy books are books of allegories, few seem to have taken the trouble to investigate their symbols and parables. Those instructions were in the form of philosophical keys, by means of which the allegories were made to reveal their hidden significance. These mystic keys to their sacred writings have been referred to as the hidden knowledge or the mystic passage. One form of organized mystics is known as Gnosticism, which is a philosophical movement, tolerant to different religious beliefs. The term is derived from the Greek word gnosis which means “knowledge.” It is the Gnostic belief that knowledge is the way of salvation. Gnostics claimed to have secret knowledge about God, humanity and the rest of the universe of which the general population has been unaware of. The Gnostic teachings have been opposed a lot in past history unto this present day by the leaders of man’s religions. The movement and its literature were forced into secret societies due to the so-called heresy hunters from established mainline religions. These religious officials condemned the Gnostics as sacrilegious and a threat to the well-being of the “good” order of organized religion. These religious officials feared people would not need them if they found out they were not needed for common worshipers to have a direct relationship with God. Gnostic beliefs are currently experiencing a rebirth throughout the world. In the words of the Gnostic Apostolic Church, humanity needs to be awakened and brought to a realization of true nature. Mankind is moving towards the Omega Point, the Great day when all must graduate or fall. This is the meaning of the Day of Judgment in that only those who have entered the Path of Transfiguration and are eligible to be reborn to Paradise; completing the cycle of rebirth. The majority of us each have all lived previous lifetimes in a collective attempt to enter the realm of higher consciousness which bestows the liberation of human captivation of the physical realm.
