About the Author

Burdon Campbell, born in Houston Texas, moved to Los Angeles at an early age.  He attended Los Angeles Union, Seventh Day Adventist School, from first grade to seventh grade, he was baptized at age twelve.

Burdon is not a deacon elder or a preacher, but more importantly he is a true believer and a follower of Christ.

As a high school student, Burdon considered the ministry as a commitment.  However life led him to serve in other ways.  He graduated from John C. Fremont High School, and then studied two years at Los Angeles Trade Technical Junior College to become an electrician, he then joined the United States Air Force and became an civil engineer electrician, and later an aircraft electrician.

Burdon fell in love and married a Baptist girl from Mississippi.  He served 20 years in the United States Air Force.  Through out his career, younger airmen would unofficially seek out Sergeant Campbell with personal problems.  He never told them what to do, he just listens patiently and occasionally he used the book of James to guide them in their decision making.

Burdon was a community servant during his years in the military.  He was a youth soccer coach and the assistant league president for his community soccer program.

The Air Force gave him the opportunity to visit the ruins of ancient cities in Greece, Egypt and Libya, he stood on the same rock where Paul preached, visited the Red Sea and toured the ancient city of Sabratha. This experience increased his interest in Bible history.

While teaching Vacation Bible School (ages sixteen and over) his interest in church and Bible history peaked when he became aware that so many did not know church history, Bible history or how to use the Bible.  He looked back at his childhood questions and at the questions of his son and grand children, Burdon studied for four years, and began to write this book.  Now he has express that nothing has given him more joy than to answer these youngsters’ questions.

Burdon’s favorite book of the Bible is James, his favorite Verse is Romans 8:28.  He is currently an assistant teacher in a class called “Tuesday Morning Bible Clinic” in North Highlands California.  He is a member of Faith Fellowship Community Church in the same city.
