About the Book

In The Innocents, Donny and Mavis Bader receive a visit from Jim Porter, a lawman who has evidence implicating Donny in the murder of two men involved in his previous wife’s death.  In return for Donny’s help in solving a case involving the abduction and rape of his niece, Porter tells Donny the evidence against him will disappear.  As the investigation progresses, the scope and magnitude of the crimes targeted, escalate.  Donny and Mavis Bader find themselves entangled in a case involving kidnappers, child pornographers, and murderers.

This is a unique story, but unfortunately, the subject matter is not.  Young people are taken and abused everyday in this country, and often the perpetrators of the abuse go unpunished.

About the Author

Roy Sheehan is the author of three books.  Addiction, The Innocents, and The InnocentsII, are literary jewels which reflect the author’s experience and observations of his life in the heartland of the United States of America.  His writings are original and bring to life an intricate interpretation of life lived in rural America.  His distinctive style reveals a unique combination of understanding and bewilderment of the challenges that face many of us, whether we live in urban or rural areas.  He is a writer who has struggled with addictions in his lifetime, despite his religious upbringing, and perhaps because of it, he has survived, and can bring to life the everyday struggle with morality which we all face.
