Chapter One
The world is not the way it was and
It will remain as is as long as you do nothing!
You are not the only beings to reside upon Earth, but you alone reside within your own world. No one else could live within it as you have designed it specifically for you. The designers of the past had a very different approach to life and often pretended that God was in the Earth. They felt reverence for the water and air and worshipped the elements.
We are not at all pleased that you do not care for what has been given to you, but it is not our place to comment. You look to us to be spoiled children, but God is the father of us all and God has no problem, so we have no problem. However, God has called us to teach you manners and an appreciation for the fullest possible life upon Earth. You will begin to learn and we will continue to teach.
If the work of this world is difficult--and it is, you can change it simply by willing it to be different; but it is not easy to gain a consensus since you are all so independent of one another. We suggest you try to get together and act as one.
The work of your life is your work. You are responsible for the way you live, but the work of the world is also your job. You must be a part of it. If you shirk responsibility for this work, you cannot be rewarded. The reward for this work is the ability to pass to the next plane at the end of this life.
The work is not difficult, but you are!
You do not heed the words of elders or those who care enough to teach you. You think you are the only one to be on Earth and are not worried if others have nothing. That attitude has brought grief and sorrow to you—not to those caught in the webs of your greed and desperate search for gain. Those caught have no more worry, but you have to rid yourself of the blood and the stain from you. The work of ridding such criminal behavior from your soul is hard and not done in a single lifetime.

To change your mind or enter a higher level of understanding entails your acceptance that it requires work on your part. If you do not use your inner wisdom and work at your life, it will be of little use to the world around you. You may change, but live in isolation if you do not work in the world helping others grow in Spirit along with you.
To grow in Spirit is not difficult, but is hard to explain when your nation is dedicated to money--not to God. Wealth does not bestow wisdom or a meaningful life on anyone—that comes from Spirit. The Work Begins teaches you how to work with Spirit and learn to enjoy life here on Earth, regardless of what you did in the past.

About The Scribe
After graduating Summa cum Laude from The University of Pittsburgh, where she was invited to join their PhD programs in Psychology and Sociology, Ruth instead went to St. Francis College where she wrote her Master’s thesis on “Cost Containment of Benefits in a Declining Industry.” Although she received no corporate recognition for this outstanding work, it was effectively used during the downsizing of the American steel industry in the early 80s. Her career as a technical writer then centered on her ability to create and develop employee benefit programs that passed the most stringent accounting and business laws. With 30 years experience, Ruth cashed in her chips and walked away with no regrets—never to return to Corporate America.
Much happened in the life of this writer during the early years of her retreat, the most notable being that she lived ‘the good life’ day-to-day without any visible means of support---and accumulated no bills. Perhaps that is why a most unusual group of unseen entities, known simply as “The Teachers of the Higher Planes” entered her life and asked if she would write for them as their Scribe? Whatever happened in 1993, writing in Spirit has overtaken the life of this brilliant and hard-working woman, now known to thousands upon thousands all over the world simply as ‘The Scribe.’
Life has not turned out as others thought it might, but then, that is life when you are a spiritual scribe.
