She was in such a hurry to see Grant, she got somewhat careless. The door was cracked. Dinah strolled in with a demented attitude.
“Well! La de da! What do we have here?”
Dorian spoke out, “Dinah, I thought you were gone. I didn’t see your car in the parking lot.”
“No, Dorian, you haven’t seen anything or anybody except Grant, Melinda’s husband.”
Getting heated up by the minute, Dorian said, “I don’t need you to remind me whose husband he is. Anyway, she doesn’t love him. I do.”
Grant felt compassion for Dorian. “I’ll take care of this, sweetheart. Why don’t you leave?”
Dorian walked out the door, but she refused to leave.
In hostility, Dinah went at Grant. “Grant, how could you do such a thing? You know Melinda is going to be very upset, and if she knows you’re fooling around with a black woman, she’ll never forgive you.”
Angrily, he yelled, “The only thing that’s holding Melinda and me together is the boys, nothing else. Before Dorian came into my life, she never knew I existed. I’m only putting up with her for the boys’ sake. So don’t you go and ruin it by telling her anything. I don’t want to lose my boys.”
