It is science fiction, romance, and mystery all rolled into one intriguing story.  The story spans 20 years of the characters lives.  You feel their hopes, frustrations, enjoyments in life, as well as their bewilderment.  “I AM THE ADJUSTOR” starts out in Rolla, Missouri. A worldwide epidemic develops in a very short time.   Why, what it is, where it came from and how it affects the characters in the story is the basis for this book.  This book is recommended for ages 16 and above.

About the Author

Bob Reichel, author, teacher, inventor, was born in Billingsville, Missouri. He grew up in the New Franklin area.  While in high school he played basketball, track and participated in school plays. The regular subjects were not his favorite thing with the exception of Math and Science. English and History were a struggle.   Since his family lived in the country, he and his four sisters spent a lot of alone time.  Bob’s favorite playtime was playing with toy cars, trucks and tractors.  He spent many hours building roads out of matchsticks and small tree limbs.

 

Shortly after graduation, he volunteered for the US Army and served 3 years in the “Big Red One” First Infantry Division.  After a short stint in Germany, he was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas.  This is where he met his wife, Jody, who lived in a nearby town.

 

After the military, Bob became a police officer for 6 years, then went into a position that was always a passion for him, doing mechanics work.  This eventually led to teaching farm equipment mechanics for International Harvester, which became Navistar International, in Missouri, Nebraska and Idaho. Later in Idaho he became an Instructor of diesel mechanics for the College of Southern Idaho and General Motors, until retirement. In 1995 Bob invented and patented an emergency pipe repair seal.  This has also become a sideline business.  After retirement, life really changed when he started contract teaching for industry, internationally.  In his relaxation times he wrote poetry, and articles for a local newspaper.  One night in year 2000, Bob, who rarely dreams, had an unusual dream.  It worked so strongly on his mind that it caused him to get up in the middle of the night and write down a one page synopsis.  The more he thought on it, the more he wanted to get it written into a book.  Through much dedication and perseverance, Bob has finally finished this task. The result is, “I AM THE ADJUSTOR”.

 

Bob and Jody have lived in Idaho 25 years.  They have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.  Family times are very special for the Reichels.

 

Bob also enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and gold prospecting.  His strong Christian belief has allowed him to serve as Church Lay Leader and Deacon.
