About the Book

Paradise Haven is a romantic novel based in the Old South along the Mississippi River. Spanning sixty years, the Mac Murtry family came from poverty to own one of the finest Plantation homes on the Mississippi River. A story of how Christian whites and Christian slaves endured life together during a crucial time of war and torment by the Klan.

Through the dismal days of the siege of Vicksburg to the romance and tender love of this Christian family, it will open your eyes to a different view of how life was in the Old South.

Through my Christian beliefs and with the leadership of my Lord Jesus Christ, I was able to write this book. He shared this book with me through several dreams.

As you read this story, I hope you can see how this one family made a difference in a state where hatred was extremely strong.

About the Author

I have been writing lyrics, poems, and short stories for a number of years. I am from the South, and as a retired sales & marketing professional, I have seen and heard firsthand how people feel about each other, especially when they speak of a different ethnic group. Racial tensions still plague the South, and with the gift of this story from the Lord, I feel you will see we can all live in harmony.

This story, its characters, names, places, and events are fictional.
