II Kings 2:11 As they kept on walking and talking, a fiery chariot with fiery horses suddenly appeared and separated one from the other: and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Still spinning within the illuminating whirlwind, I felt a sudden slow descent. The swarming warm, golden light began to evolve into a brilliant but intense blue light. During my descent, there was a perpetual numbing of my body and mind like a deep intoxicating slumber of the “Raven’s opiate.” So I began to fade away into what seemed like a deep, very deep sleep. Out of what seemed like if not days then hours, I stretched and yawned, now awakened from an apparently long, deep sleep. My eyes slowly opened. Still feeling groggy and my equilibrium still not all there, I took in my immediate surroundings and then realized that I was standing on some kind of a crystal-like platform which was enclosed with enormous crystals of gold, blue, green, and purple which surrounded the platform. Within moments, a large crystal retracted, allowing me now a full view of my immediate surroundings. It was so surreal that my perspective of reality became distorted. Though my equilibrium and my mind became more balanced, my body was still tingling with a new sensation as the numbing slowly subsided. I felt as though my blood was beginning to flow throughout my body. A newfound awareness began to emerge. But my first thought was... Is this a dream? My surroundings and circumstances could be analyzed by thought, but my feelings reflected an unusual comfort with my immediate environment. Perhaps I was dreaming or I was having what some might call an out of body experience, but nonetheless, there was no immediate fear of my surroundings and I felt a sense of ease and security for whatever reason. From the distance, a tall figure slowly neared. Though I noticed that I could freely leave the crystallized chamber, I waited with curiosity as the approaching figure''s features came into my focus.
