Day in and day out she looks for the energy in her to continue. But the fight always seems to be in vain. It allows this demon, horrible untruths in her life. With his voice of deceit he attacks and hurts her inner self. He invades her privacy, and as a woman makes her feel like the filthiest woman on this earth. This demon dominates her heart and soul so easily, that each day she crucifies herself; every second making her feel nauseated, disgusted and terribly sick. Ms. Reyes adds. I want to wake up and feel that everything is just a horrible nightmare, and that finally, I can be in peace. But every day he returns, controlling me to the state of panic and depression, that only a valium can surpass!
Immediately the thought of peace and happiness enter her mind, as she thinks of her family and returns to a time of innocence. When I was a child, I held my fathers hand, and I knew that I was in the safest of hands; life was pleasant and cheerful. I remember going to school and playing with my childhood friends. When trust meant confiding in teachers and the people you knew would not betray you. When the seasons of the year meant just that!

The manipulation of a real woman scorned by fear and deceit, by a man who had nothing better to do, but to destroy an innocent soul. A soul that now lives in oblivion and forgets what life, love, and happiness is all about.
There’s a dark side of life that helps me see the light. Goals the have come and gone, with so much fight. Stars that I have reached, that are brighter then the sun. Places I have seen, that my dreams could only have dreamed. Experiences that I have lived that made me hate and cry. Time that stood still, while I gazed at the window sill.
Start to look at the exterior, take valor in justice. Be a coward at hurting, but take strength in loving. And if you feel weak in hate, cover your soul with morals and nude the contaminations of your thoughts and body. Don’t fear in opening your door! Because this universe was created for you!

In recognition for her talent, she was invited by the San Antonio Martin Luther King commission to write and recited her poem, in Spanish, ”Un Gran Hombre”, for the late great Martin Luther King Jr., and the largest MLK march in the planet, that took place in San Antonio, Texas, in the year 2005. One of her most recent and passionate work. She is politically involved as well as involved in her community.
