LOVER OF MY LIFE
For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of

Because of the tremendous sacrifice that Jesus made for us, it’s not a great stretch to believe that God loves us. Of course, we may struggle with attempting to understand why such an awesome God would love someone like “us”, but we know from years of proof through Scripture and in our life experiences, that He does.
How many times have we quoted, “God is love”, or “Jesus loves me, this I know…” We can see God as a loving Father who cares for His own, but a lover? For many Christians, it borders on irreverence to think of God as a lover. And yet, a lover He is. He desires personal, intimate relationship with each of us individually. If only we could first imagine it possible, and then abandon ourselves to the reality of its experience.
Why would we expect the Holy Spirit to show up, deposit holy seed into Mary and dash off. No. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. Certainly, He would have been patient, to assure her that she was loved.

You are the lover of my life
You’re in the sun shining on my face
You, oh Holy Spirit
Are a gift to me of God’s sweet grace.
Run your fingers through my hair
Whisper something in my ear
Hold me closer to your bosom
Say those words I long to hear.
Dance with me across the floor
Waltz me, twirl me through the night
Let the maestro keep on playing
They can even dim the light.
Let tomorrow’s daybreak find me
Resting gently in your arms
Unconcerned by my surroundings
Undisturbed, and unalarmed.
You, my lifetime lover
Are the one to whom I cleave
All the others I’ve forsaken
For I know you’ll never leave.

For more than 30 years, she has penned personalized poetic expressions for cards, newsletters and framed gifts. Relying more on divine inspiration than natural talent, the author effectively expresses some of the joys, sorrows and challenges of life.
She is convinced that the Almighty Creator still desires to speak to and through mankind and thus has learned to listen for the poetic rhythm of His messages. Many of her own communications are expressed poetically, to the surprise and delight of the recipients.
