About the Book

When author Harvest moon eyes decided to spend the winter of 1995 in Seattle, Washington, it was with the intention of writing a simple love story.  A series of bizarre events unfolded and instead she found herself spending the winter on the streets with Seattle’s homeless.

As Seattle’s homeless shared their background, opinions, and political viewpoints, Harvest moon eyes began to examine her life, prejudices and failures.  Voices From The Other Side is her journal: a spiritual metamorphosis interwoven between unaltered-recorded conversations, which expose the rawness of the streets; and the emotions and thoughts the author tried to keep hidden, as well as delivering a timeless, compelling message to our politicians.

About the Author

Harvest moon eyes is a pseudonym taken from a poem she wrote many years ago. Friends suggested she use the name as a reflection of her perspective and as a reminder not to lose sight of herself.

Although she was raised within the Irish American community, she is of mix-blooded heritage. She has both personal and professional ties to the Native American community. For eight years she worked for a Native American school on a reservation in Southern California, although she considers Taos, New Mexico “home”.

Harvest moon eyes is a published author of poetry, fiction and free-lance. She can be reached at harvestmooneyes@hotmail.com.
