About the Book

Once upon a time, during the Great Depression, a ten year old boy comes to a tiny Welsh mining village in the mountains of western Pennsylvania.

There he is confronted by creatures he never believed existed: a ghost, elves, a tiny red dragon (the Royal Dragon of Wales), and a mischievous Tylwyth Teg (Welsh troll).

The adventures his new friends lead him on, and his quest to save a Welsh miner’s son, challenge his courage and resourcefulness.  He builds self-confidence, adapts to change, and learns to appreciate the values of fellowship and his newly found heritage.

Amos and the Wild Welshman is an adventure story with splashes of fantasy, folklore, Welsh mythology and humor.
