In the Heart of Darkness

  Nox was laying on the bed listening to Sivana rant about being turned into a wood nymph. About the fact she had to worry that any man seeing her naked could potentially die, and that, if she ever wanted to have sex again it would have to be with a blind man, with the lights off, just to be sure he didn’t die.

  “I said I was sorry,” Nox said with a sigh, “What more do you want me to say, Sivana?”

  “I want you to say we can fix this.” Sivana nearly shrieked.

  “If you don’t know how to undo this, what makes you think I do?” Nox asked her with a raised eyebrow and a overly sweet tone.

  “You know I am a man and I am not dead yet.” Michael said from the bars of his cell. “So obviously you got all the benefits and none of the draw backs.”

  “None of the draw backs... None of the drawbacks he says. Obviously he doesn’t know what a beautiful woman goes through. Obsessed men, jealous women, stalkers…none of the draw backs indeed.” Sivana ranted.

  “Oh cry me a river,” Michael said in a belligerent tone. “Get over it, damn, woman, it isn’t like she made you the worlds most beautiful creature.”

  “What the do you think a Nymph is, idiot?”  Sivana shouted.

  “Well if a Nymph is the most beautiful creature on the planet I think, Nox is the Nymph not you,” Michael said in a matter of fact tone, garnering a look from both Nox and Sivana.

  “I have to say I agree with him,” Nikoli’s deep voice echoed from the stairway drawing everyone’s attention and silencing them.

  Nox came off the bed in a flash, and quickly brushed past Sivana, going to the bars to stare at him. Nikoli looked first in the cell containing the red haired man, and in an instant knew who he was. Drake’s son. The resemblance was too strong not to think so. Then he turned to look in the cell containing his beautiful Nox and the witch, or rather Nymph.
