About the Book

Patriarch, Henry Bosworth and his sister, Katherine, look on with tolerance and amazement as the carnal and tempestuous relationships develop between Constantine Abernathy—unkempt, irascible, and profane—and Bessie Gatto—widowed, buxom, and good-humored. Harold Fuller—handsome, mild, and naive—and Bessie Owens— divorced, sexy, and restless. The seventh member of this loosely knit family is Mamie’s sixteen year old daughter, Lena whose ambition is to become a stripper in a Bourbon Street skin show. Helping to stir this family pot is Buster Bosworth, brother to Henry and Katherine, a sometime visitor, and part-time lunatic. This is a story, profane and humorous, of initial failure, frustration, unhappiness, and lunacy transformed into success, satisfaction, marital bliss, and sanity.

About the Author

Bill Tucker wrote his first novel when he was eighteen, sailing the Pacific on a merchant ship, trying to decide whether he would be Jack London or William Faulkner. He realized the book was so bad, he fed the pages into the wind over the South China Sea. He returned home, became an engineer and scientist, a university professor, an industrial researcher, a professional editor, a publisher, a memoirist, and--finally--a published novelist. His first book was a romance/suspense thriller. This new book, Running Through the Sprinklers, is the dissection- profane and humorous—of a bizarre family living in an elegant New Orleans neighborhood. It is a hilarious read.
