Anger, hurt, rage, so deep inside
I just want to scream
You broke my heart
Tore it apart

This wasn’t a fling
You fell in love

It’s because of you
I feel like a fool

Can’t even look into your eyes
Without seeing the lies

Stop trying to kiss me
Don’t tell me you miss me
Because it all makes me want to scream
Don’t want you to touch me
Don’t need you to love me
You touched and loved her
And made me want to scream
Can’t seem to close my eyes
Or sleep at night
All I see is you with her
Night after night
And it makes me want to scream
You say, “I Love You”
“I Need You”
“Can’t Lose You”
“Not After All We’ve Been Through”
And I just want to scream
Can’t control the tears running down my face
You say you wish you could take my pain away
You can’t, you put it there
And I just want to scream
Now you lie, cheat, you drink, and gamble
You promise to fix everything
But you can’t
You broke all our vows
And that makes me want to scream
I’ve been gone away everything’s been going okay
Came home today without much to say
Should have stayed away
Now I just want to scream
It’s time for bed
Don’t want to lay down my weary head
For fear I’ll dream instead
Don’t want to dream
Rather run and hide
And scream, scream, scream
Search for the Soul
Eyes shaped like almonds
So I’ve been told
They look at my eyes
But do they see my soul?
If they look deep inside
There’s a story to unfold
They say I’m full of mystery

About the Author
Sandra Grace Monge was born April 11, 1959 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Richard and Consuelo Monge. Despite studying psychology at CSUF, she returned to writing due to life changing circumstances. Although she began writing poetry in her early teens, it wasn’t until 1989 that she shared a poem publicly by entering a poetry contest, and won the Golden Poet Award for her poem, “Identity.” Since 2000 she has been published several times, and has received the Editors Choice Award and Outstanding Achievement Award in poetry. She currently resides in Whittier, California with her two children Jasmine and Cory, where she continues to write about love, life, relationships, and fantasy.
