It was midnight and the streets were deserted. Cat was dressed in black from head to
toe. A stage two situation was at
hand. Two days ago a small child was
brought into the emergency room and had slipped into a coma from a blow to the
head. Rachel was the attending
physician. The mother’s boyfriend had
beaten the child. He was arrested, but
had made bail. Cat was waiting for him. She had watched him for three days so she
knew which route he walked coming home from work. She was standing behind a huge oak tree
waiting for him. There was no
streetlight on near the tree because she had made sure it wouldn’t come on
which made it easy for her to blend in with the darkness. When her target was getting near, she slowly
backed around the tree so she could sneak up on him as he passed. The man was at least six feet tall and Cat
was only five and a half feet tall. But
neither height nor weight ever bothered her.
She tapped the man lightly on his
shoulder causing him to turn around.
Once she was face to face with him she did a jump kick that connected
the toe of her foot to his chin. He
stumbled back from the blow. After he
regained his footing, he took a swing at her but she dodged to the side and
gave him a series of punches to his ribs.
After he shook that off, he charged at her but she side stepped him and
he ran into the tree. He shook that off
also then he went after Cat again. This
time when he charged at her she didn’t move because she was going to use his
weight against him. She waited until he
grabbed her then she turned her body on an angle and flipped him down onto the
hard concrete. She heard voices in the
distance. She looked around and saw two
people about a block and a half away.
She decided she had to finish the job so she pulled out her steel black
9mm equipped with a silencer and hit the man across his head with the butt,
knocking him out. Then she quickly
stuffed a towel in his mouth. She placed
her foot on the man’s wrist causing his hand to lay open then she put a bullet
in the palm of his hand. She did the
same thing to his other hand. Before she
left she said, “That ought to stop you from beating on children.” Then she disappeared into the darkness.
