SYMBOLS INDICATING THE LIFE FORCE
Everyone
loves to have icons to identify for quick moves to their favorite places on the
World Wide Web! They are so cute,
inviting and enabling us to quickly find our way.
The
LIFE FORCE knew His creations enjoyed such, so from the very beginning man was
shown ways to identify with THE LIFE FORCE and commune with Him in the “cool of
the day” or as we would say in “the afternoon breeze.” Wind is the first icon or symbol of the POWER
of THE LIFE FORCE.
The Wind became
a symbol to man for the Power of God. (John 3:8; Acts 2:2-4; Exodus 14:21 and Genesis 3:8)
We can feel the wind and by technology have some idea
which way the wind will be blowing, yet most of us really do not understand why
or how the wind will blow. The LIFE
FORCE has purposes so beyond our usual knowledge so as to confuse us. Example:
A child with severe learning disabilities is not ordinarily expected to become
a writer, yet you are reading that child’s writing. THE LIFE FORCE has touched the inner workings
of her mind to perfect this! Miracle? Yes, the wind
blew!
In
Holy Scriptures the WIND is
symbolic of THE LIFE FORCE”S POWER.
“The
wind blows wherever it
pleases. You hear its sound, but you
cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8 NIV)
“When
the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place... sound as of a
mighty rushing wind...” (Acts 2:1,2 NIV) The Wind drew a crowd nearly 3,000 came!
“Then
Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove
the sea back with a strong east wind
and turned it into dry land...”
(Exodus 14:21-24 NIV)
The Wind blew
as the creatures passed before the man who had the joy of naming them.
What an intellect! There were
more than he, Adam (man from the red earth), had seen before! What joy he felt at seeing the variety of
animals. They obeyed his voice! The LIFE FORCE brought the animals to Adam
and allowed him to name them. For
example, “The
giraffe!” is the long necked one. What a time that was. All cattle, fowl of the
air, and beasts were named by Adam

Largely
the church (organized body of Christ) does not welcome the presence of the Holy
Spirit. The body is afraid when He moves
to minister enhancing their usual “comfortable” worship. When allowed, He creatively administers
strength. In the following seven ways
the Holy Spirit speaks His role as “horns” and “oil” of THE LIFE FORCE.
B.
EMPOWERMENTS of the work of THE HORNS-OIL
1. The Holy
Spirit of the Lord (Spirit of Faith) is
sent forth to be the ministry power source through willing, cleansed vessels.
The Spirit of Faith empowers our human faith level for courage to pray for
things, which ordinarily do not happen in the natural, or at least don’t happen
regularly. The Gift of Faith differs,
for it functions for a specific need.
The Holy Spirit’s empowerment with the Spirit of Faith is a steady
source of confidence in THE LIFE FORCE.
A minister empowered with this working of the Holy Spirit will not stay
discouraged for long. They will stand
when others are too tired and battle weary.
Jesus was well acquainted with this power source. He quoted Isaiah
61:1-3 and Luke 4:18-19 as he preached His first sermon and sat of the chair
left untouched because it was the Messiah’s chair in temple. He was the Messiah, Y’shua the savior...so he
sat down. The Holy Spirit had to remove
him from the area to protect His life.
What a ministry send off!
“The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel
to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance
to the captive, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them
that are bruised (translated many
times as cursed), To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19)
Zechariah
3:9 directs us: the Holy Spirit could only come to work in us as “reflections
off the rock” (Jesus).
Anointing
(Representation of the oil of God’s presence) of the Holy Spirit is always for
the purpose of ministry NOT SHOW.
