About the Book

“GETTING THROUGH THE TOUGH STUFF is the best book on intimate
communication that I have read in a long, long time. This book shows readers,
step by step, how to create a communication style that will handle their conflicts constructively. The more you read this book, the more you realize there are skills here

that couples need to learn if they want an equitable, warm and loving relationship. I can''t think of a couple who couldn''t benefit by reading it. I do believe that couples who really use the skills and concepts in the book will build a stronger, closer relationship.”

Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., Author of LOVE BETWEEN EQUALS,

and Professor of Sociology, University of Washington

"If you are trying to create and nurture an intimate relationship with your lover, "GETTING THROUGH THE TOUGH STUFF" is the best communication book you can find and I don''t say this lightly. It is the mother of all communication techniques. Use these skills and you will build an intimate relationship that creates wisdom, passion and maturity in you and your partner. I don''t think  you can create an intimate relationship, as a mature person, without them. Jack Tannenbaum is a master teacher and he makes the learning curve safe, manageable and clear better than anyone I know."

Philip Belove, Ed.D., psychologist and creator of www.datingatmidlife.com,
Director of the Midlife Learning Institute.

Working with Jack doing the RAP Process helped bring my wife Rosalie and me much closer together. I found the RAP Process simple, powerful and effective and believe that Jack is a wonderful communicator of this essential information. I believe that Jack Tannenbaum is a gifted teacher and that he gives his wisdom lovingly and without    ego. My wife and I lead workshops around the world and we found that his approach, the RAP Process has been well integrated into our lives and our teaching.
