About the Book

Jack Watson was living every racist worse nightmare.  His daughter, Stella, had married an African-American soldier and every day Jack feared his secret would be discovered.

One day Jack received a rather cryptic letter from his daughter.  She wanted to meet with him at home.  Jack was due for a series of surprises.  The good news, for Jack, Stella’s husband had been killed in Operation Desert Storm - the bad news, she was pregnant.  But things got worse.  Stella had been advised she had a medical condition that was terminal.  Giving birth could be instantly fatal.  Stella had come home to ask that her father and mother raise her black child.  Her husband’s family, like Jack, had disowned their son because of his interracial marriage.  She had no other options - if her unborn child was to live.

Jack couldn’t catch his breath.  Raising his grandson would mean he would be up against his neighbors, friends, and family.  Jack’s family had been involved in the Ku Klux Klan for over 100 years.  Could he make a promise to raise the child and then when Stella died simply put the child up for adoption?

Like Jack - every reader must discover for himself, what is the color of love.
