About the Book

Teaching children how to learn amazed Europeans when three physicians announced the results of their work. Dr. Georgi Lozanov’s Suggestoloqv in Bulgaria, Dr. Johannes H. Schultz’ Autogenic Training in Germany and Dr. Alfonso Caycedo’s Sophrology in Spain used different approaches but all were equally acclaimed. Chapter 6 of Buildinq Blocks of Light reports that Caycedo's method enabled retarded with serious motor incoordination to perform physical exercises and dramatically increase their IQ's. Dr. Espinosa, the pediatrician who used Caycedo’s technique in Spain as well as North and South America, was awarded the 1974 international gold medal in pediatrics for his results. About the Author

To help college students learn “how to learn,” Professor Margaret Laurie devised and taught an accredited course in Meditation for fifteen years at Niagara County Community College. Her meditation book, first published in 1978, is now printed in five languages.

In the late 1990’s, a former meditation student asked Margaret to teach meditation to her eight year old grandchild, who had ADHD. A year of one hour a week sessions turned the child into a calm, competent and confident student. These sessions, repeated in Building Blocks of Light, will enable Elementary School counselors and teachers to work similar miracles in their classrooms
