About the Book

It was ten-thirty at night.  Howard said, “Hey lady I bet you would look very elegant dressed up”, very softly speaking.  He was looking at her with a soft passionate glare in his eyes, as he gazed at her watching her body as she moved around the dining area room.  Ther responded, “You been saying that same line every since you walked into this place two years ago negro”, smiling at him.  Now you know with nine babies, cooking, serving and working, just don’t call for time to dress up “No Time!!”  Howard said, “yeah! Baby!  But , I will buy you the clothes, makeup, get your hair done, the works, shoes everything you need.  Just dress up so that I can see what you look like.  I bet you’d look like a “MODEL” in one of those magazines.  Ther answered “Alright! (sternly) give me the money, honey. . . and I will dress up for you”, laughing to herself.  Howard jumps up!  “Shucks!  You ain’t said nothing but a word , baby doll!”  Howard pulls out a roll of hundreds counting it and walks over to Ther, placing it in her hand. . . so gently. . . closing his hand over hers.

About the Author

GoGo’s hobbies are writing, reading , taking pictures and video’s of any and everything that the camera will snap.  But most of all she has a love for all children.  She feels that when they read this book (as well as adults) they can put themselves in the story and know that life is special.  She wants them to know that someone has gone through what they are experiencing in their own life.  This book is a reality check and a dream come true for her.  Black families are a tough breed of humans and being light skinned (almost white) and black is even more of a struggle than having black skin.  People make her seem different than what she is.
