About the Book

A Yellowstone Savage from Fishing Bridge is a collection of engaging stories that bring to life the magic of glory days as a fishing guide in Yellowstone National Park. These stories give the reader a glimpse of life as it was in the mid-sixties for a young person learning the life and traditions of a “Savage”, a Yellowstone concession employee, working at Fishing Bridge in our oldest and largest national park. This book makes you wish you were there with him, in his boat exploring Lake Yellowstone, and pursuing fun around the park with other Savages. If you are fortunate to have been a Savage, it will take you back to a wonderful time and place, and allow you to live it over again through these experiences and  love for The Yellowstone. This is only one snapshot out of thousands taken by “Savages” over the years. This is an account and tribute to the Yellowstone National Park.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book  will be given to THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, MUSEUM COLLECTION

In Port St. Joe, I taught art on the side and edited an art column for the local paper. Having served my four years in the service, I headed to Oklahoma City for a Masters degree.  Within two years I was off to the coal fields of Wyoming, the start of my teaching career. In Hanna, Wyo.
